Alicia Marie Scott and The Fast Hands Band celebrated the release of their new album, Headful of Vices Friday night at Billy's Lounge in Easttown, Grand Rapids, MI.

The special performance included guest musicians Caleb Elzinga, Troy Anderson, and Scott Bogus.

Fast Hands Band plays a mix of blues, jazz, funk, and soul classics, as well as original material.

For my part, three things really caught me off-guard last night in my first time seeing the band perform. For one, Alicia is a LEGIT singer and consummate performer. Dynamic and engaging. Able to pull off "slow-burns" as well peppy Jackson Five type material.

Guitarist Andrew VerLee can really rip as well. Pulling out the stops with confident renditions of Stevie Ray Vaughan and others that was entirely earned.

Most surprising, however, was guest saxophonist Caleb Elzinga. Probably because the Billy's stage is so small and he was crammed into the back corner, but holy cow did that sound come through loud and clear!

I probably don't have much else interesting to say about the night, except that you should've been there. Those who were danced their asses off and enjoyed every note.
